Paid Internships

Entry into live theatre generally involves working for free and unpaid internships. Convergent Stage will provide paid internships to remove this barrier for low-income and underrepresented communities.

Interns will be guided by highly experienced mentors working in Canadian or American theatre.

Quality

Convergent Stage will provide financial support for an original, commercially-viable, Canadian musical that demonstrates inclusivity in the cast & on the creative team.

Projects will be selected based on commercial viability. The selection committee will be comprised of award-winning commercial producers.

Support

In year one, Convergent Stage had 2 paid internships during the Toronto Fringe Festival, July 06-17, 2022.

The first was in Stage Management and was awarded to a woman.
The second was in lighting and was awarded to a woman of colour.

In the following years we will expand to offer opportunities in the technology based creative arts.
